Little Champs II Classes

Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu for ages 8-10 — real technique, partner drilling, and the first controlled sparring, in a true peer group. First class free.

By eight, a child has aged out of play-based classes. They can hold a technique in their head, drill it with intent, and start applying it against a partner who is actually resisting. Little Champs II treats them as the genuine students they have become.

This is the tier where Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu gets real. The curriculum moves into true technique, structured partner drilling, and the first taste of controlled sparring, at the academy on Williams Drive near Wolf Ranch Parkway.

Controlled sparring is introduced carefully and always matched by size and skill. It builds composure and problem-solving, and it never becomes unsafe. Professor Fabio Villela and the Gracie Barra Georgetown coaching staff break down each position step by step, then supervise every drill closely. This is where a child starts to understand Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu as physical chess.

Because Gracie Barra Georgetown runs four separate age-banded kids tiers, an eight-year-old in Little Champs II is never matched against a much older or bigger child. Families from Wolf Ranch — where students head toward James Tippit Middle School — and from across Georgetown, Liberty Hill, and Florence choose the program for exactly that structure.

The Gracie Barra belt-and-stripe system gives clear, visible progress. And the discipline and focus the class builds tend to show up where parents most want them — in schoolwork and at home, as reviews regularly note.

The first class is free, with no contract for the trial. Dress your child in comfortable athletic clothes, bring a water bottle, and arrive a few minutes early. Call or text (737) 298-2780 to schedule.
